My Story
Most people in health and fitness focus on eating right and exercising, and that's great. But without understanding WHY those changes matter to you personally, it just feels impossible to get there. My belief has always been: Motivate before you fix.
My journey started over 15 years ago, when I worked in the weight-loss industry, helping people reach their goal weight. I hired a coach myself, loved the results, and then life happened. I lost my why. So I went back to school, became a personal trainer, and started helping people reach their fitness goals. Then I added nutrition to my toolkit to give people the full picture.
In between all of this, I worked in Human Resources, and that's when I had my biggest ah-ha moment. It's life's challenges that knock us off track. Having children, relationships, careers, studying, all while still wanting to live a longer, healthier life. These aren't excuses. They're real. And they matter.
Then my mum was diagnosed with cancer. Her doctors linked it to years of inflammation in her body, driven by stress, people pleasing, and holding everything in. That shifted something in me. I went deeper, researching the connection between the body, the mind, and the gut. I didn't just want to help people reach their goals anymore. I wanted to understand the patterns behind why we struggle in the first place.
I also live with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and thyroid issues. But those diagnoses didn't stop me; they pushed me to research deeper and understand the root causes behind them.
